REPORT ON THE RESEARCH

REPORT ON HOW OFTEN DOES UTP STUDENT CALL THEIR PARENTS IN A WEEK

On 29th March 2012, a survey was carried out in LR14, Block N at PETRONAS University of Technology (UTP). I wanted to know how often do UTP students call their parents in a week. The survey was done by 35 students male and female of various backgrounds and races from Group 14 English tutorial. The students are from engineering courses and ICT & Business course. The survey was done by passing out the survey forms to the students.

According to my research, 51% of the students call their parents every day, which shows a positive number. 17% of the students call their parents thrice a week and 9% of the students call their parents only for money. The rest of them call their parents once or twice a week.

As a conclusion, more than half of the students still call their parents every day. This shows that UTP students still remember their parents even though they are in a university. How long can this last? 9% of the students call their parents just for money which shows that some of the UTP students are not behaving like what they should. I hope that this research can be made wider to get more information on how UTP students consider their parents in what they do. We want UTP students to be well-rounded and a great child to their parents.
