My Result, My
Hometown, Miri
What did you
feel when you went back to take your SPM result? What did you experienced and
learnt during the journey you went back to your secondary school? The SPM
results will be released on 17 March and all of the candidates were summoned to
take it. My university gave me 3 days of study leave to go back my hometown and
take my result. Through the journey, I learnt about the importance of family, I
discovered the potential of myself and I realized that how much I love my
hometown, Miri.
Before I
leave to further my study in UTP(University Technology Petronas), I felt
excited to get into a new environment to study. When I reach the airport in
Miri, I felt very touched, this is my hometown and after months finally I was able
to back here again. I had not sees my family for months. I miss them, I miss
them very much. I miss their voices, even I did chat with them on phone when I was
at UTP, it is not so reality compared to speak with them face to face. They
always give me courage when I was studying in UTP. Although I have friends
here, they will never replaced my family. When I saw my parents at the airport,
the happiness inside my heart cannot describe by any words.
My
friends keep asking me weather I am going back to take result or not. I was so
worried if I cannot to take my by myself because it is the result where I work
hard for 2 years. At first, I was expecting my result will be around 6 to 7 As,
but when I saw my result I was surprised. I get 9As! Out of my expectation and I
finally know that my ability is much higher than how I see myself. It gave my
much confident to further my study in UTP. My science Physics and Chemistry got
A+, this proved to me that I have enough basic to study course in engineering. I
was very happy all of my hard work had payoff, most of my friends get good
results too. At the beginning, I am not confident for myself, but through this
journey now I am sure for myself want to become an engineer!
Miri
is my hometown, I grow up at here since I was born. I love all the food here. I
cannot eat the food at UTP, the food in UTP mostly are suit for Indian and
Malay. I like to eat “Mee Kolok” that is most common food in Miri but is only
available in East Malaysia. I had all of my memory in Miri, my friends and
family. This is where I born and where I live and I experienced everything
here. This journey made me once again step on the land of Miri, the land which I
love the most.
I do
appreciate everything when I went back to take my result, I was able to take
the result by myself and meet my family and friends. I opened a wider view on
myself and on my future, I am sure now that I want to be an engineer. I do hope
that I can be success in my future and it will be soon for my next return to my
hometown, Miri.
